Test Results

Contact the Surgery after 12.00 noon either in person or by telephone

In the interests of confidentiality your results will only be given to you. You will be asked for information to identify yourself. Parents or guardians of a child under the age of 16 are able to telephone for results. If you wish a relative/friend to collect results please inform the staff so that we can make a note of your consent.

Sometimes, we cannot always give full results over the phone. If the result is complicated, or if the doctor wants to see you about the result, we will offer you an appointment.

On average please allow 4 working days for your routine test results to come back from the hospital unless your doctor has advised otherwise. Please note that X-ray results take a little longer, usually 10 to 15 days.

Did you know you can request to view your test results online?

Using online services is the easiest and quickest way to view your test results, as there’s no need to make a phone call or visit us. Computer, smartphone or tablet users can view their test results anywhere – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If you are not already registered for GP online services please let a member of the practice team know you would like to use this service. See our Online Services page for more information.
